Our volunteers support Trevi in all sorts of ways – from events, fundraising and administration to gardening, practical support and specialist roles. Whether you can give a few hours, support a one-off event or volunteer regularly, there may be a place for you.
Events & Fundraising
Help bring Trevi’s fundraising activity to life.
Our events and fundraising volunteers support everything from community events and challenge days to collections, campaigns and supporter activity. You might help with registrations, welcoming participants, marshaling a route, supporting a stall, cheering on fundraisers or lending a hand behind the scenes.
This can be a great option if you enjoy meeting people, being part of a team and getting involved in practical, hands-on activity, but can’t commit to regular volunteering.
Opportunities are one-off, occasional or linked to specific campaigns and events throughout the year.

Marketing & Events Support
Help our marketing and events team with the day-to-day work behind the scenes.
Volunteers can support with administration, data entry, preparing materials before or after events, organising information and other practical office-based tasks.
This role would suit someone who is organised, reliable and comfortable working behind the scenes. It can also be a useful way to build confidence, gain experience and develop transferable skills in a professional environment.
Depending on the role, opportunities may be regular (such as 1 day a week) or project-based.
Corporate Volunteering
Give your team the opportunity to support Trevi together.
Corporate volunteering can be a meaningful way for colleagues to spend time together, contribute to the local community and support important charity work.
Opportunities may include helping at fundraising events, supporting practical projects, taking part in team volunteering days or offering professional skills and expertise.
We can work with businesses to explore opportunities that are useful to Trevi and appropriate for your team.

Specialist skills
Use your professional knowledge and experience to support Trevi in a practical, meaningful way.
From marketing, communications and design to finance, IT, photography, research and other specialist areas, there are times when additional expertise can make a real difference to our work.
You might be retired and looking to continue using your skills, a freelancer who wants to give something back, or an employee able to offer pro bono support through your workplace.
Opportunities will vary depending on Trevi’s needs and may be short-term, project-based or ongoing.

FAQs
How old do I have to be?
There is no upper age limit on volunteering with Trevi, however you must be over 16.
How much time should I give?
In general, there’s no set time volunteers must give, but some roles will require at least 1 shift a week. A shift pattern will be agreed with you before starting with us.
Will I be paid?
No, as a volunteer there’s no pay. We will ensure you don’t lose out financially by covering your agreed out-of-pocket expenses, such as travelling during volunteering hours.
Is there training?
Yes, but the type and amount of training depends on the role. However, every volunteer receives a thorough induction to their role, so that they feel confident in what they’re being asked to do.
Do I need experience?
No, there is no requirement for you to have volunteering/work experience in this sector. However, any knowledge or experience you may have regarding our services will help your application.
Do you do background checks?
If you are volunteering with our service users directly, a DBS check will need to be completed before you begin. If you are occasionally helping with events, then a DBS may not be required.
