Our Blossom Women’s House is new, safe, trauma-informed women-only accommodation based in the centre of Plymouth.

Blossom Women’s House is a place where women can find rest, peace and security and take positive steps in their journey of recovery from trauma and abuse.

Having a safe place to stay like Blossom Women’s House, is vital. Women have space to address their trauma and understand how it manifests so that they can move forward in life.

Without this safe space, women are trapped or sofa surfing in unsafe perpetrators’ homes, sometimes locked into a world of drugs and substance misuse, at a continuous and high risk of domestic and sexual violence.

Working in collaboration with the referring partners, Blossom Women’s House works alongside women who are ready to make a change in their lives. We offer a safe, secure, homely space to all our residents.

Located in Plymouth, Blossom Women’s house is specifically designed for women with complex and multiple needs. We are a trauma-informed facility that can accommodate up to nine women across three floors.

Our accommodation includes:

  • Five beds are allocated to women in contact or at risk of being in contact with the criminal justice system
  • Two beds are for any woman with housing needs.
  • Two beds for emergency use( the use is reviewed on a daily basis) known as the ‘guest suites.’
  • Enclosed back garden

we provide

  • Wrap-around support will enable women to feel safe, begin living, grow and thrive.
  • Women who live in Blossom Women’s House will need to engage with a programme of support, attend key work sessions and resettlement work sessions, follow an 11 pm curfew, and work with partner agencies for additional support.
  • The house is staffed 24/7, and each resident has a designated support worker who creates a care and support plan to focus on the woman’s strengths, next steps, and enhance her ability to live in the community. A trained and skilled staff member will be available overnight who has experience working with this group of women.
  • Within the home, we provide a range of activities and interventions to support their progression into securing support and social capital in the community.
  • Women will also be encouraged to access our smart recovery support via our Sunflower Women’s Centre next door
  • Our resettlement officer will provide ongoing support to help women find more sustainable accommodation. Probation is available on-site at our Sunflower Women’s Centre, so women with probation requirements can attend appointments. The local drug service also provides an outreach prescribing clinic to connect women to drug treatment if required quickly.

Trevi ... is truely unique, working with highly stigmatised and traumatised women in a way that supports their dignity. Its approach is incredibly innovative, human and compassionate while delivering highly effective results - improving lives while saving public money in the longer term. By allowing women with difficult backgrounds of substance abuse to live with their children throughout the recovery process, Trevi House improves outcomes for both mothers and children.

I have managed to stay clean because I attended Sunflower on a regular basis which gives me focus and purpose to my day. I have also gained more tools and skills to help me move on in life. The staff and other women at Sunflower are a big support to me and we have empowered each other. I feel so grateful!
