Chair of the Board of Trustees
Gina joined the Board of Trustees as Treasurer four years ago and is currently the Chair of the Board of Trustees.
Gina started her career in banking and then worked at the University of Plymouth Students’ Union for 23 years, the last seven as the Chief Executive.

Upon retiring in 2020, Gina was awarded an Honorary Fellowship by the University. Gina was an Accountant and a Chartered Manager prior to this and has extensive Charity Board experience at a senior executive level with a track record of driving major impact through strategic development, establishing robust governance and excellent financial stewardship.
Gina is passionate about serving the Plymouth community wherever she can and particularly supporting those from a disadvantaged background and those less fortunate. She feels strongly that it is important to support Charities whose values align with your own.
Gina lives in Plympton and has a passion for crochet, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Gina is proud to be a part of Trevi and in her role as a Trustee, will work hard to support the amazing staff team and the community of women Trevi supports.
Vice Chair, Children’s Guardian – Retired
Gerith is a retired social worker and Children’s Guardian, having worked extensively in the family court arena for most of her professional life.

As a Children’s Guardian, she often represented children who were the subject of care proceedings, many of whose parents had issues with substance misuse. As such, she has a comprehensive understanding of the emotional impact upon children of separation from their parents. She has always been a keen advocate of, where possible, children remaining in the care of their parent(s) whilst they undergo rehabilitation, providing the children’s needs are safeguarded.
Sarah is a Doctoral Researcher at City, University of London, with a particular interest in the links between domestic abuse and suicide. She is also a freelance consultant with experience of working with survivors and families bereaved by fatal domestic abuse. Sarah is an active Domestic Homicide Review (DHR) Chair assessed DHRs prior to their publication for the UK Home Office and has quality assured over 400 DHRs.

Sarah is trained to Chair DHRs and, as an AAFDA Associate Trainer, provides training on DHRs relating to suicide for new Chairs as well as bespoke training on Domestic Abuse related suicide.
Sarah has recently undertaken Home Office funded research alongside the University of Warwick: ‘Learning Legacies: An Analysis of Domestic Homicide Reviews in Cases of Domestic Abuse Suicide’ due for publication later this year.
Sarah is a Churchill Fellow and will soon travel to the USA and Australia to examine their models of domestic abuse death reviews, with a particular focus on domestic abuse suicide.
Sarah is passionate about supporting women to recover using trauma informed practice. She is privileged to be a trustee of an organisation empowering women to support other women.
Nuclear Skills Director – Babcock
Debbie is a strategic HR leader proficient in both operational and specialist HR disciplines and has specific specialist expertise in successfully delivering a national early careers programme. Together with developing and leading the strategic direction of the UK’s nuclear skills provision, ensuring that the organisation is equipped with the knowledge to effectively attract, recruit, develop and retain the right skills today and for tomorrow.
Debbie currently sits on several boards nationally and has experience of working in the public, private and voluntary sectors.
Debbie is passionate about working with people, is dedicated to developing others to be the best they can be and has a positive and proven track record in this field.
Outside of work, Debbie is a married mother of two children and has two Jack Russell’s.

Property Entrepreneur
Sally is a property entrepreneur and investor. Sally achieved financial freedom by investing in property, beginning with a high quality Houses of Multiple Occupation, Buy to Lets and Serviced Accommodation ( Short Term Lets). Sally also has refurbished properties too, from light to major.

Sally loves helping people, so uses her experience and knowledge in running businesses to coaching and mentoring business owners not just in property but also solving problems in business that are people based. She uses her skills as a former teacher and Senior Leader to train people too. One of Sally’s greatest achievements was winning an award for ‘ The Coach who makes a difference the most’ She also loves to help young people start out in their career and is an Enterprise Advisor for a school local to her.
Senior Associate, Ashfords LLP
Appointed to the Board in 2024, Sophie is a senior solicitor at Ashfords LLP. She acts for clients with complex and high value disputes, particularly relating to property. Her role requires an analytical and detailed approach with a commercial focus and she often has to advise on urgent and critical decisions.

In a previous career Sophie worked with young people as a qualified youth and community worker and she understands the challenges that young people in particular can face. Sophie is looking forward to being part of the Trevi Board and working with the staff to support the women and families using Trevi’s services.
Communications, Media & PR Professional
With a founding background as a broadcast journalist before embarking on a career in Communications, Media and PR, Karen brings 20 years’ experience (and counting) to her role as a Trevi Trustee. She’s worked across both public and private sectors, specialising particularly in the fields of Higher Education and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) in heading up communications departments for the past ten years.

Karen’s Trustee Directorship appointment complements the wider Trevi Board by offering her diversity and longevity of expertise and skills across the full communications and engagement contingent.
Outside of Trevi, Karen is a full-time working mum to her two children (and two dogs), loves all things to do with the sea, enjoys a kitchen disco (!), and is proud to call Plymouth her ‘adopted’ home.
Karen said: “Trevi is a very special charity that has truly life-changing impact. The testimonials of the women, and in cases their children, whose paths have taken a different course for the better, are nothing short of breathtaking.
