Jasmine Mother & Child

Formerly Jasmine Mother’s Recovery (Trevi House), Jasmine Mother & Child is a unique residential family centre in Plymouth, Devon. We offer specialist parenting assessments for mothers with substance abuse issues.

Our program offers treatment for mothers to address substance use while enhancing parenting skills, allowing them to remain primary caregivers for their children.

Jasmine Mother & Child recognises that for many women, the use of substances has been a mechanism for coping with traumatic life events, including childhood trauma/abuse.

The service has Ofsted registration and is regulated by CQC who rated the service Good overall.

The safety and welfare of the child are paramount. While our assessments will address the support needs of the parents, the focus will remain on the child, with a view to facilitating care planning for the child’s longer-term future.

We recognise the potential therapeutic value of a residential parenting assessment and will endeavour to deliver our assessment in partnership with mother and child.

We aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment for families so that each parent has a fair assessment of their parenting skills and capacity.

We will work with a range of professionals to provide each family with individualised support in line with their abilities, needs, and background.

our programme

Our strength-based approach focuses on assessing and supporting the mother’s strengths while addressing her physiological needs.

We offer personalised and group-based support, which is encompassed by a therapeutic wrap-around service. We provide comprehensive support services enveloping the mother and child for holistic care and well-being.

Our treatment program is delivered by an all-female team of Family assessment Practitioners and Family Support Workers.

Our Sunflower Women’s Centre provides a comprehensive service for our families after completing treament. The Sunflower Women’s Centre offer a full timetable of activities, including educational courses, training, workshops, drop-ins, and groups, covering well-being, life skills, and creative activities. The Centre also has an on-site creche.

accommodation

Jasmine Mother & Child can accomodate seven families. It is a secure site consisting of self-contained flats with a shared garden/courtyard.

The accommodation comprises four flats suitable for single mothers or families with multiple children. All flats include laundry facilities.

We have a large family room that anyone living at Jasmine can use. It is bright and spacious, with conservatory doors that open into a self-contained enclosed play area designed for families to relax.

We also have a computer room that families can use, and our purpose-built Discovery Lodge is where we deliver a range of workshops and support groups for mothers.
