International Women’s Day:
8 March 2023
It’s back, bigger and better for 2023 – Who is your Shero?
We recognise there are many female heroes – we like to call them Sheroes! Whoever they are, we want to celebrate those special Sheroes as part of International Women’s Day on 8 March with a pay it forward approach.
This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #EmbraceEquity. We can all challenge gender stereotypes, call out discrimination, draw attention to bias, and seek out inclusion.
Shero definition: a female hero who deserves to be recognised and celebrated for their social economic, cultural and political achievements. We recognise there are many female heroes – we like to call them Sheroes.
This year you can show your recognition for any awesome woman you know. – it could be your mum, sister, gran, girlfriend, wife, work colleague, nurse, teacher, support worker or inspirational celebrity!
We want to recognise those women who have gone above and beyond in their community to support others especially during difficult times . Whether this is opening their home as a warm space, volunteering at a food bank or just making sure an elderly neighbour has enough food and heat, we want to hear about them!
Let’s celebrate their awesomeness as a much loved and appreciated Shero, plus raise funds to ensure we can continue to support women and their children with our services.
So nominate your Shero today – Perhaps she is an awesome work colleague who has arranged a carpool to help with rising fuel costs, or maybe is she is simple an amazing Mum; could it be your neighbour who volunteers tirelessly every Friday or maybe it’s that stranger who always greets you with a smile on her way to the shops, brightening your day!
We believe that there are many special women out there this year who deserve a mention!
