Placard & Banner Making
If you’d like to join us to make banners and placards, we’ll have a space at the Arts University Plymouth to hand create these, and talented University staff will also be running a free event to screenprint placards in their Textiles Studio. Head to the Arts University Plymouth for 5:00pm, and our friendly team will be there to greet you. Details are as below:
Screenprint Your Placard Workshop – at Arts University Plymouth
(5pm – 6pm)
FREE – pre booking is required
Join Sue Lewry (Lecturer on our BA (Hons) Graphic Design degree and local printmaker and artist) & Norman Buchan (Technical Resource Manager) in this exciting screen printing session, where you will be able to screen print your own placard for the Trevi Reclaim The Night Walk.
The session will involve:
- Choosing one of 5 statements which have been designed by Arts University Plymouth’s BA (Hons) Graphic Design students.
- Screen printing these onto lightweight boards (made from recycled paper) with the assistance of Arts University Plymouth students trained in screen printing.
- Attaching your placard to a wooden handle.
(Please wear clothing you are happy to get messy – although aprons will be provided)
Draw Your Own Placard – at Arts University Plymouth Students’ Union
(4pm – 6pm)
FREE – drop in sessions
Come along to the hand drawing placard making session at Arts University Plymouth Student’s Union, where our talented BA (Hons) Illustration students will be on hand to assist you with creating your own placard to take with you on the Trevi Reclaim The Night Walk. Add your own spin to one of Trevi’s placard statements or create your own personal message.
Please note – the placard-making workshop requires pre-booking as there are limited spaces. Please sign up through the march link.
Could You Volunteer?
Want to do more than just attend? You can get involved and show your support through volunteering for the walk!
We have some opportunities available for passionate volunteers to take on a variety of volunteering roles to help at the Reclaim the Night march, including:
- Being a march steward, You will ensure the safety of the attendees during the march. Stewards will be invited to attend a one-hour training session prior to the event.
- Promoting the march by displaying posters within your work place, gyms, other social settings and social platforms.
