Salary £21,412 gross per annum pro rata (£11,419 per annum for part time)

Part of the award-winning women’s charity, Trevi, the Sunflower Seeds Family Support Service forms part of the Sunflower Women’s Centre offer. The team makes a big difference for families who require additional support with the challenges they encounter. The Team run trauma-informed and trauma-responsive family support sessions, informal play groups, a creche service and a NACCC Accredited Enhanced Contact Centre.

We are looking for an experienced, flexible and confident support worker to join the team. You will have experience of working in the Early Years and harbour common sense, creativity and flexibility in engaging with both parents and children. You will undertake the role by supporting the Seeds team to deliver care and fun learning opportunities to children in the morning creche and stay and play sessions, modelling and encouraging active play and communication to children and their parents, as well as being on hand to deliver family support.

You will support the afternoon contact centre offering parents an opportunity to spend time with their children in a safe and supervised space. You will have an understanding of trauma and the impact this has on families requiring support.

As a potential candidate, you will be able to achieve positive outcomes for children, but able to work compassionately with parents too, many of whom may be distrustful of professionals. You will respect the complexities and diversities of families. You will be able to support the contact centre allowing families quality time together. You will have knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
