our impact

Our operations have grown over the past 27 years, but we have always remained resolute in our dedication to some of society’s most vulnerable.

In 2020 we were chosen from more than 400 charities across the UK, as one of the 10 winners of the 2020 GSK Impact Award.

the difference we made 2019-20

  • We supported thirteen times more women compared to 2018-19.

  • At our Jasmine Mother’s Recovery rehabilitation centre, 98% of women detoxed; 80% of children remained with their mother.

  • 90% of women supported through our Sunflower Women’s Centre said it was a lifeline, with 75% being able to move forward in life.

  • We secured Plymouth’s first social impact contract to deliver Pause Plymouth – one of our services delivered at the Sunflower Centre – working with hard-to-reach women with extremely complex needs.

  • We opened Daffodil Family Centre – a brand new parenting assessment centre.

  • We expanded our Sunflower Women’s Centre – moving into a bigger building, working with more partners and offering more courses and groups – achieving a 300% rise in referrals.

  • Our Sunflower Strategic Lead won the Inspirational Woman Venus Women’s Award, Devon and Cornwall.

  • We were awarded a Community Heroes Award by Plymouth Herald.

  • We secured significant media attention (BBC News, ITV Westcountry, BBC Radio, Radio Plymouth) since our BBC Panorama programme, “Addicted: Last Chance Mums” in January 2018.

Importantly, we also know that the work we do saves public money:
Over a 5-year period alone, Jasmine Mother’s Recovery (formerly known as Trevi House) represents an ethical and cost-effective saving to local authorities of almost £250,000 per family.
